Country Rates can help you unlock domestic and international demand by offering great prices to travelers in countries you particularly want to target. You can boost your bookings by customizing the discounts you offer to specific markets: the country where your property is located, other individual countries, entire regions, or the whole world.

Adding Country Rates is a proactive step that you can take as part of your pricing strategy to increase your property’s occupancy. You’ll strengthen your pricing position by offering a discount only to potential guests in the countries where you need a boost. And if things change, you can manage your Country Rates at any time.

You can choose to offer any discount amount of 5% or above. We’ll only display this discount amount to people using our platform in the countries or regions you want to target. Country Rates are active throughout the year, and you can choose a maximum of 30 blocked dates when they don’t apply.

Country Rates apply to all of your rooms and Rate Plans. The Country Rate discount is on top of any Genius discounts you offer and any other promotions you’ve set up, except Mobile Rates and Limited-time Deals.

Keep in mind that depending on the country your property is based in, this feature may not be available to you due to legal or commercial restrictions. We’re working to roll out Country Rates to all countries as soon as possible.

  2. Click on Rates & Availability and then click on Country rates
  3. Select the countries or regions you want your Country Rate to apply to. We display these in the order we recommend you prioritize each country or region based on what we know about your property and your previous bookings. If there’s an arrow next to a region, you can click on it to select individual countries within that region.
  4. Enter the percentage discount you want to offer
  5. Choose any check-in dates when you don’t want your Country Rate to apply
  6. Click on Review and then click on Activate if everything looks right

 

Understanding Mobile Rates

Increase your bookings from mobile devices by up to 30% by offering special Mobile Rates. Mobile Rates can also help you target millennials, who are more likely to book using mobile devices.

A Mobile Rate is a special discounted rate that’s only visible when someone uses our app or accesses our website using a mobile browser. You can use Mobile Rates to increase your bookings from mobile devices by up to 30%.

The majority of reservations on our platform are made using mobile devices, so offering a Mobile Rate helps you tap into this large group of potential guests. Mobile Rates can also help you target millennials, who make up over 65% of bookings on our mobile channels.

When you offer a Mobile Rate, a special badge appears next to your property in the search results, on your property page and during the booking process. We’ve found that all of this helps to improve your conversion with mobile device users. Mobile Rates are active throughout the year, and you can choose a maximum of 30 blackout dates when they don’t apply.

Mobile Rates apply to all of your rooms and Rate Plans. The Mobile Rate discount is on top of any Genius discounts you offer and any other promotions you’ve set up, except Country Rates and Limited-time Deals.

Setting your Mobile Rates

You can choose to offer any discount amount of at least 10%, but for the best results, we recommend a discount of 15%. We’ll only offer this discount in our app, or both on our app and our website in mobile browsers.

By activating Mobile Rates on both our app and mobile website, you can reach 30% more potential guests compared to the app alone. Targeting mobile users is more important than ever since increasing numbers of travelers use mobile devices when both thinking ahead to future trips and booking spontaneously.

Activating Mobile Rates

If you don’t already have a Mobile Rate set up, from the Opportunity Centre in the extranet you can quickly create one using our recommended settings. Or you can follow these steps to set up a custom Mobile Rate using your own choice of settings:

  1. Log in to the extranet
  2. Click on Promotions
  3. If you already have other promotions set up, click on Choose new promotion (you don’t need to click on this if your Mobile Rates will be your first promotion)
  4. Click on Add Promotion next to Mobile rate
  5. Choose where you want your Mobile Rate to appear by selecting either App and mobile web or App only
  6. Enter the percentage discount you want to offer
  7. Choose any check-in dates when you don’t want your Mobile Rate to apply

A bed bank provides a beach resort in Thailand to retail travel agencies based in London.

  • Bed banks are the most effective way to achieve targeted-based occupancy.
